Storyboard Proposal Guidelines

The presentation format is flexible, but the following points should be covered:

  • Chosen science topic and general concept of activity
  • Brief description of scientific base
  • Learning objective(s) and educational value:
    • What will players learn?
    • What do players need to know in order to understand new concepts?
  • Storyline of activity
  • Descriptions of user's experience:
    • What will user experience be like?
    • How will players move through the activity?
    • How will they recieve feedback?
    • How will they win/lose?
    • What features will make the game enjoyable for the duration of gameplay?
    • You may wish to include flow charts for navigation, player actions and reward system relationships: anything that will help us visualize your ideas.
  • User interface design:
    • What will the interface look like?
    • How will feedback and score be presented?
    • Create storyboards for common player sequences or actions;
    • Include scripts for introductory video, how-to-play instructions, feedback text/video and end-of-game screen;
    • How do you imagine your activity to be integrated within a gen-nano mission?
    • What should our developers know or do in order to successfully implement your storyboard?
